After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Philosophy, I started an organization in Denver that runs after-school programs focused on creative storytelling, critical thinking, cooperation, and building empathy. I have over 13 years of experience working with elementary-aged students, and prior to Rivendell I was involved in English Language Development at Dunn Elementary. I am passionate about helping students one-on-one and in small groups, and encouraging them to use their natural strengths and interests to learn.

Outside of teaching, I love playing Dungeons and Dragons, camping, and traveling. I believe that education works best when connected to experience using imagination!
