I was introduced to Rivendell right after graduating from UNC. I started by spending some time volunteering, and quickly realized that Rivendell was the place I wanted to teach! I was drawn to our way of teaching academics individually, considering each child’s unique style and strengths. The warm, welcoming atmosphere in our building has kept me here for the entirety of my professional career. I taught here for 32 years, in all grade levels.

In the spring of 2022 I finished my last year of teaching my own class. I was ready for something new, but I was not ready to leave Rivendell. I am now the Facility Manager for the school, as well as a math support teacher for our older classes. I still love coming into Rivendell each and every day!

When not at school, I enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, and gardening. I am married to Holly, and we have three children and four amazing grandchildren, with whom I love spending as much time as I can.
