A Short Guide to Understanding Development @ Rivendell
(or, Fund Raising is not a Four-Letter Word, really!)

Most non-profit institutions rely on a variety of fund raising projects to keep existing fees and/or tuition at reasonable levels, supplement their budgets for special projects, and build for future financial stability. Rivendell is no exception. Since 2000, we have developed a number of fundraising programs that are spread throughout the year. Thoughtfully conceived, our fund raising methods are designed to provide a maximum amount of return for the least amount of effort from our families.

Some of the money we raise goes directly into the operating budget (undesignated) and is used as directed by our Board of Directors. Some money goes to specific projects (designated for a particular project or program). All of it helps our children by ensuring that we have enough funds to meet the annual needs of our wonderfully unique school!

I invite you to become acquainted with the six Rivendell fund raising project areas and think about about which ones you can become involved in. When all is said and done, it takes all of us working together to make sure that our school is financially healthy.

I invite you to explore the easy (and often fun) fund raising programs at Rivendell School and decide how you can become a participant.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact me or any member of your Rivendell Board.

Yours for a healthy future,
